How You will Make an Impact

  • Analyses and comments on tenders, contracts and contract related documents and gives proactive advice and support throughout the procurement process.
  • Participates in contract negotiations and in formulation/implementation of negotiation strategy.
  • Ensure adherence to internal standards and compliance with external regulations.
  • Captures internal data and prepares presentations and analyses.
  • Contributes to standardisation of contracts and improvement processes.
  • Implements standards, guidelines, and processes regarding effective Contract Management.
  • Participates in developing project specific concepts
  • Participating in variation and claim management on customer contract or subcontract, mitigating risk or minimising liability claims.
  • Develops, implements, and regularly reviews the claim strategy with regards to customers, sub-suppliers, and partners together with Operational and Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Shares best practices with the business.
  • Sets up and conducts trainings for business partners and colleagues.
  • Other activities assigned by your direct line manager
  • Reviewing and commenting on the invoices on basis of the agreed purchase orders/frame works agreements and civils BoQs

What You Bring

- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor / Contracts role, working within a project environment

- Experience ideally gained in a similar or related industry e.g. Transmission, Power, Infrastructure, rail, engineering, defence, construction, etc

- Degree in quantity survey or a professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is required.

- Experience in Civil Construction (Plant/ Power Industry related).

- Strong track record in a contractor side, project environment

- Able to manage both direct labour and subcontract costs

- Ability to estimate change / variations using various methods

- Able to forecast cost and measure cost of work complete

- Good negotiation skills

- Ability to manage commercial strategies

- Ability to manage expectations internally and of suppliers

- Strong communicator with excellent written and oral communications skills, as well as a good team player

- Good financial and commercial acumen

- Ability to work under own initiative and under cost or time critical conditions

- Good Contractual knowledge and experience

- Confident and able to communicate externally and internally at all levels

- Ability to operate effectively within a team environment

- Strong computing skills in MS word, excel, project and MS Outlook
