Quantity SurveyorTotton, HampshireSalary up to £55,000 + Car Allowance £5000 + 25 Days Holiday + Pension + Laptop + Phone + MileageBlaymires Recruitment is representing a busy main contractor based near Totton, Hampshire who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.The company undertake Residential and Commercial new build and refurbishment project across the South that include new build housing developments, refurbishments works, student accommodation, care home facility’s, Industrial units and office refurbishment projects with project values ranging up to £3.5M.The business has been steadily growing and their workload increasing they are looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the director and be responsible for managing a selection of live projects from inception to final account.The company has plans to grow the commercial department and this role will grow into a senior management role over time.They will consider applications from either Estimator / Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor who has main contracting or residential development experience.The Role

  • Responsible for managing project costs, saving money where applicable.
  • To keep a tight control of variations on site, record all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final accounts.
  • Manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculation and preparation of all company valuations and final accounts.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly job cost analysis data.
  • Analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
  • Organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and subcontract enquiries.
  • Establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.

The Person

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working for a Building Contractor or Residential Developer.
  • Experience of pricing new enquiries and winning new contracts would be an advantage.
  • HNC or Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of JCT form of contracts.
