Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction firm in Southampton, with a particular focus on fit out work. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects and progressing their career within a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of fit out projects, from initial cost planning through to final account.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for fit out projects.
• Oversee procurement processes and manage subcontractor relationships.
• Value work in progress and ensure the project stays within budget and timeline.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Prepare and manage project cash flow forecasts.
• Negotiate costs and final accounts with clients and suppliers.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in fit out projects.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Familiarity with relevant software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, CostX, etc.).
• RICS accreditation (or working towards) is highly desirable but not essential.
