Quantity Surveyor
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established main contractor based in Southampton. The business is a tier 1 main contractor with a national presence, operates out of several offices across the UK. They undertake projects across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, leisure, commercial and defence and have a strong project pipeline for the coming year.
About the role of Quantity Surveyor:
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing projects or may work as part of a larger team on larger schemes. Projects are administered via a mix of JCT and NEC forms of contract, so strong working knowledge of this is essential. You will be responsible for the commercial success of the project and will be involved in the project from pre-construction through to handover and final accounts.
Key responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:
- Involvement in pre-construction activities
- Procuring all sub-contract packages
- Sub-contract management including dealing with variations
- Dealing with valuations
- Monthly CVRs
Key requirements as Quantity Surveyor:
- Have main contracting experience
- Have strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
- Be a strong communicator and diligent in your approach
- Live within a commutable distance to Southampton and be happy to commute to site as and when required
- Have the full right to work in the UK
