Quantity Surveyor

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established main contractor based in Southampton. The business is privately owned and operates out of regional offices across the south of england, undertaking projects across the commercial, education, healthcare and extra care sectors valuing up to 25mil. They have won a place on several local frameworks and projects are typically procured through a mix of competitive and negotiated tendering routes.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within the commercial team either managing your own smaller scheme or working as part of the team on larger projects. You will be reporting into the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

Involvement in pre-construction activities
Sub-contract procurement
Managing sub-contract packages
Client valuations
Dealing with sub-contractor variations
Final accounts
Mentoring more junior members of the team

Key Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor position:

Hold a HNC / Construction related degree
Have at least 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying position
Have a track record of managing projects administered via JCT forms of contract (NEC is beneficial)
Have the full right to work in the UK
Be able to commute to the office / sites as required.
