Senior Quantity Surveyor Required

My client are looking to take on an SQS to join there team working on critical projects driving and developing the contract value, tracking the contract and project performance across all service streams. This role will see you working fora very large an reputable business well set into the Facilities Management sector who thrive on prioritising people in everything they do, allowing opportunity for everyone to develop and find progression in the direction that best suits.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Role

To continue to develop and implement a consistent framework for the projects as well as developing and adapting a proactive approach to risk management reducing risk to as low as possible. The role will include leading assessment and delivery of projects and to be responsible for the line management to QA functionality to support all contract outputs.

  • Implement, direct, monitor and control commercial framework consistently across the group business, including customer contracts, risk and legal requirements.
  • Continuous drive to improve the profitability and competitive performance of the business through selling and negotiating skills and maximizing opportunities
  • Relentless pursuit of reduced risk and optimised profit across the suite of contracts in place and support the drive to obtain additional valuable opportunities as they arise.
  • Establish business relationships with operations, estimators, commercial & finance functions with BT group/Data Centre Customers
  • Analyse rates & prices, agreements of variations and/or compensation events as required.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of various contracts including JCT/NEC/MF1
  • Provide monthly business analysis to the business unit heads and directors.
  • Provide commercial input to business proposals. Full responsibility for the negotiations, valuations, interims and final accounts
  • Protect the client image through the application of professional commercial practice and principles
  • Provides effective and appropriate leadership, including team spirit and company ethos, culture and values
  • Accountable for own development plan for continuous improvement of competences in relation to the client career development program

Qualifications and Skills Required for the Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Expeirence working in a critical/industrial environment where by projects are 'get it right first time' mentality
  • Extensive experience in a projects envrionment of value led sale pricing and general cost estimating
  • Experience with QS environment dealing with appertaining to agreeing all final accounts
  • Expeirenced in prepping and presenting Contract reviews
  • Understanding of risk management
  • Strong analysis and report writing skills
  • Ability to contribute to development of long-term business plans and commercial strategy
  • Previous experience working with either/or NEC/JCT/MF1 Contracts
  • Qualified to degree level in commercial management or/and quantity surveying
  • Full UK Drivers licence
  • Happy to work away from home for short periods of time every now and again (not often)
