You will also act as the focal point during emergencies, co-ordinating logistics and transport efforts and ensuring resources reach their destinations when they are supposed to.In addition to this, there will also be the opportunity to provide a consultancy service to our customers, ensuring that the most effective emergency response plans are in place.Additionally, you will:- Manage the export, import, and transport of shipments by road, sea, and air- Develop relationships with freight forwarders and charter brokers- Create required documentation for import and export, including dangerous goods- Maintain shipment records, customs accounts, and ensure compliance with regulations- Provide technical logistics support to other departments- Conduct internal and external audits and provide consultancy services to customers- Use MS Project to generate response time models and other logistic documentation- Ensure operational guidelines are up-to-date and risk registers are maintainedAbout YouTo be considered as a Global Logistics Specialist, you will need:- Extensive experience in international freight forwarding for road, sea, and air transport- Expertise in creating dangerous goods documentation and managing international imports and exports- Experience of using INCOTERMS and identifying HS codes- A bachelor’s degree (or NVQ academic equivalent) in Logistics, Supply Chain or similar (operations, procurement or planning)Other organisations may call this role Logistics Co-ordinator, Freight Forwarding Operative, Freight Forwarding Co-ordinator, or International Freight Specialist.Webrecruit and Oil Spill Response Limited are equal opportunities employers, value diversity, and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and applicants.
