Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Art and Design Teacher to inspire students across KS3 and KS4 at a well-regarded secondary academy in Southampton. This role is set to start in September 2024 on a long-term contract. The successful candidate will join a supportive and creative department, where they will be responsible for delivering high-quality Art and Design lessons that engage and motivate students. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Art and Design lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
- Inspire students to develop their artistic skills and creativity.
- Provide constructive feedback and assess student progress to support their academic and personal growth.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages exploration and innovation in Art and Design.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Art and Design curriculum and participate in departmental initiatives.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Art and Design or a related field.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Art and Design.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Experience teaching Art and Design at the secondary level is desirable but not essential.
