About the role:

Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a full time History Teacher to fulfil a temporary, long-term booking within a large Secondary Academy based in the New Forest. This is a temporary role with a potential of a permanent opening for September 2025.

The school is a large Secondary Academy based near Dibden Purlieu, associated with a large Multi Academy Trust. The school aims to 'enable ambitious futures' within young people, providing them with various opportunities to develop both academically and practically. Staff within the school are proud that the success of recent years was reflected in this summer’s examination results.  And as Ofsted noted at their last inspection, "Leaders have successfully improved teaching across the school.  There is a strong culture of learning among the staff which is continuing this improvement". 

As the English Teacher, you will be covering the absent Class Teacher, delivering lesson content in an adaptive and engaging way to keep young people highly engaged within the lesson. You will address your assigned classes, ensuring the safety and care of the pupils, and providing them with opportunity to discover and develop within their learning, showing a varied insight into the subject. You will have a passion and enthusiasm for English and be able to project this through your teaching and be keen on the positive attainment trajectory.

Requirements:- Qualified Teacher Status with degree in relevant subject matter.- A passion for teaching and enthusiasm for your subject specialism.- Available five days per week starting as soon as compliant.- Ability to get to the school.- Entitlement to work in the UK.- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - or be willing to obtain.- Overseas Police Check - if required.
