Supply Desk is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Southampton, starting in January 2025. This long-term contract will run until at least Easter 2025, with the potential to extend until July 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to contribute to a thriving school community, with the possibility of securing a permanent role for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching DT at Key Stage 3 and 4 and will be confident in delivering a broad range of design and technology subjects, from resistant materials to product design, electronics, and graphics. As a full-time DT teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons, creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment, and fostering students' creative development.

Key Responsibilities:- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Provide a challenging and inclusive curriculum that sparks creativity and innovation.
- Maintain effective classroom management to ensure a positive, focused learning atmosphere.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students at different levels of ability.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the DT curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the department to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Support students’ academic and personal development, fostering a passion for DT and creativity.
- Have recent experience teaching Design & Technology in UK secondary schools.
- Be passionate about inspiring students and cultivating their interest in design and innovation.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and a creative, inclusive teaching style.
- Be adaptable and confident in working in a variety of classroom environments.
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Show a commitment to raising student attainment and supporting their individual progress.
- Competitive daily rate (£160 - £230 per day), dependent on experience.
