Engineering & Design Technology Teacher - Key Stage 4 (KS4)

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced and passionate Engineering & Design Technology Teacher for a long-term role at a respected secondary school in Southampton. Position Details

  • Role: Engineering & Design Technology Teacher (KS4)
  • Contract: Long-term, with potential for permanent placement
  • Start Date: Immediate or negotiable
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
  • Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (with occasional after-school commitments)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Engineering and Design & Technology for Key Stage 4 students, specifically focusing on the BTEC TECH and/or Cambridge Nationals curricula.
  • Create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages problem-solving, innovation, and critical thinking, tailored to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of teachers and contribute to the school's inclusive and positive ethos.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications: QTS is preferred but not mandatory; candidates must have substantial experience teaching Engineering, Product Design, or Design & Technology at the KS4 level.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of KS4 engineering courses, particularly BTEC TECH and/or Cambridge Nationals, is essential.
  • Experience: A proven track record of delivering successful outcomes for KS4 students in Engineering or Design & Technology.
  • Safeguarding: Up-to-date safeguarding training (within the last year) and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Eligibility

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to provide two professional references, ideally from roles involving KS4 teaching and child supervision.
