An independent SEND school in Southampton is currently looking for a creative English teacher who is committed to improving the exam results, progress, and engagement of pupils. If you’re ready for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

They are ideally looking for someone to start in January 2025, so are hoping to appoint by October half term.

About the role

This is a full-time role in which you will be expected to deliver well-planned lessons and have strong behaviour management.

This school is seeking an English Teacher with the possibility of additional responsibility to meet the exceptional demand for their services.

You will play a vital role in fostering mathematical literacy and confidence among students from Key Stage 2 (KS2) to Key Stage 4 (KS4). Your primary purpose will be to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where pupils of all abilities can develop their mathematical skills, critical thinking abilities, and problem-solving techniques.

The ideal candidate
  • Extensive experience teaching English at Key Stage 2-4

  • QTS (desired but not required)

  • Would consider ECT’s

  • Have a contagious enthusiasm for teaching English.

  • Strong teaching background

  • Available for interview and observation

  • Committed and proactive in regards to engaging students

  • Have experience in SEND settings or a strong desire to work in one.
