We are excited to offer a wonderful opportunity for an English Teacher to join a secondary school near Sholing, Southampton, starting ASAP. This long-term role will run until at least Easter 2025, with the potential to continue until July 2025.

About the School:

This mixed secondary school near Sholing provides an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for students aged 11 to 16. The School is conveniently located for those travelling as well from Portsmouth and Fareham. 

Job Description:

As an English Teacher, you will inspire students to explore the world of literature, language, and creative writing. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop students' reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about English education and dedicated to motivating students to achieve their full potential. The role will be supporting students in KS3 and KS4, working in an established English department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess English lessons that align with the national curriculum.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to engage with literature and language.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering their growth in reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment during all lessons.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, helping them achieve their best outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
