Overview:
Supply Desk is recruiting on behalf of a respected Secondary School in Southampton, seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to start in January 2025. This temporary position offers the possibility to become permanent. You will be teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4 in a well-supported and thriving department.

This mixed Secondary School caters to students aged 11-16, with a student population of around 1,000. It has a strong reputation for academic achievement and a supportive environment. The school received a "Good" rating in all areas from its latest Ofsted inspection and is committed to high standards of teaching and learning. The Senior Leadership Team is supportive and dedicated to the development of both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Maths lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to foster a supportive learning community.
• Support students in their academic growth, with a focus on improving attainment.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching Maths.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience teaching secondary school students is desirable but not essential.
