Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to fulfil a full-time, long-term position within a Specialist School, located in Hythe. This role is set to start as soon as possible until at least February, with a potential to extend until Easter.

The school is a brand-new independent specialist school based in Southampton that will place 60 students, catering to pupils with Social and Emotional Mental Health and other complex needs. They recognise the importance of truly understanding each young individual, fostering the development of positive relationships and delivering the most effective support in order to assist with the growth and development of each pupil.

As the English Teacher, you will:

  • Work closely with staff and external suppliers to ensure the best teaching and care for pupils on an individual basis
  • Provide excellent and adaptable teaching to pupils (classes are usually less than 6 pupils with support staff present at all times)
  • Be a passionate and patient individual who can bring a calm and caring demeanour to the position
  • Be available five days per week for continuity reasons
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English
  • Be available on an ASAP basis
  • Previous SEMH/SEN experience desired but not essential
