HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We have a number of permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas.

We are seeking a dedicated Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Service department. This role requires a dynamic and confident leader who can effectively manage a team, ensure customer satisfaction, and report outcomes to the Directors during monthly management meetings. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism, whether dealing with individual customers or large multinational organisations.
This role is based in Southampton.


Duties and responsibilities of the Service Manager :

Supervise and manage the scheduling of work, ensuring the most suitable engineers are assigned to maximise labour sales.
Provide customers with accurate pricing and quotations for service and repair work
Maintain communication with customers regarding work progress and quote for additional work as needed.
Oversee workshop operations, inform customers of any delays, and ensure timely completion of work.
Authorise contractor invoices, ensuring work is priced correctly and within margin.
Review engineers time sheets and analyse efficiency, providing write-off reports.
Oversee the final invoicing process and manage payment collections
Supervise work quality, providing advice and assistance when necessary
Collaborate with the Parts Manager and department to ensure accurate allocation and ordering of parts.
Maintain records for special tools, calibrated tools, technical library, and service bulletins.
Ensure all workshop machinery and equipment are maintained according to health and safety regulations and insurance requirements
Ensure engineers are adequately trained, coordinating with suppliers for necessary training

Qualifications of Service Manager

Must Hold a full UK drivers Licence
Be able to travel and work in Southampton
Worked within an engineering or automotive background
