Full-Time Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School, Southampton

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Southampton. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to secure a permanent role after a successful probation period.

The Role:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers to implement personalised learning strategies.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Offer emotional and behavioural support to students who need it most.
• Assist with classroom activities, ensuring every student has access to quality education.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or behavioural challenges.
• Transferable skills from sectors such as care, youth work, sports coaching, or psychology are highly valued.
• A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
