Residential Childcare Worker Required - Thornhill,Southampton

U-Educate is looking to hire a Residential Childcare Worker who are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for our young people in our homes to work in one of our partner Schools.

We are an inspiring company offering Education, Care, and Therapy to girls aged 9-18. As an independent organization, we work creatively and therapeutically to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in our care.

Position Details:

  • Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, with shifts of 15 hours. You’ll typically work 3 shifts per week, from Monday to Sunday.
  • Salary Range: £21,600 - £24,000, depending on experience.
  • Additional Pay for sleep in's

About You:

  • You are enthusiastic, friendly, flexible, hardworking, and motivated to provide the best support to young people.
  • You are at least 21 years old.
  • You hold a full, manual driver’s license.

About the Role:

  • Serve as a positive role model for the young people within our residential homes.
  • Report to the Registered Manager, providing direct day-to-day care and supporting with other duties as needed.
  • Help promote a healthy lifestyle and development for the young people.
  • Plan and engage in appropriate, stimulating activities while offering consistent, caring adult support.
  • Be vigilant for signs of distress or abuse and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the young people.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, offering support to colleagues and accepting advice when needed.
  • Assist with accessing community activities like cinema trips, meals out, college, shopping, day trips, and evening outings.
