Responsibilities

As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, your duties will include:

  • Leading and delegating to the staff team, ensuring shifts are well-managed.
  • Supporting and supervising junior staff members.
  • Undertaking management responsibilities and on-call duties as needed.
  • Assisting the Registered Manager in ensuring regulatory compliance, especially around safeguarding.
  • Maintaining a safe, caring environment and managing challenging behavior.
  • Attending professional meetings and promoting daily living skills.
  • Reporting and recording key aspects of care and progress.
  • Acting as a keyworker for individual children, developing individualized care plans.
Key Skills Required
  • Ability to plan and lead shifts, ensuring the needs of young people are met.
  • Experience with children and young people with learning difficulties and challenging behavior in residential settings is beneficial.
  • NVQ 3 (or higher) in Children and Young People or Level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • Resilience and empathy for working with children with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Difficulties.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable).
