About the role:

The health and wellbeing of our young people is paramount, we are looking for support workers that are passionate in helping us provide this.

Your role will be in creating a respectful culture and ethos within the home setting. Encouraging the young people to grow, mature and achieve their full potential whilst undertaking varied and stimulating activities throughout the day with your support. Using your skills and experience gained in similar roles to achieve this or an opportunity to develop new ones.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working as a team to providing a safe, warm, caring, and stable environment for the young people in our care with emotional and behavioural difficulties alongside autism.
  • Managing challenging behaviour.
  • Promote education and daily living skills.
  • Undertake key-worker responsibilities.
  • Supporting with individualised care plans.
  • Remain updated with documentation, records in line with the organisational and Ofsted regulations.
  • Keep knowledgeable with relevant legislation and policies.

This role involves shift work, including availability to work weekends and sleep ins.

Further information regarding shift patterns will be discussed at interview the interview stage.

About you:

Desirably we are looking for those with children’s home experience of a minimum 6 months to a year, however, would consider candidates with children's work experience and skills that would transfer into the role, including emotional support, learning disability, autism, and other complex needs.

You will need to be reliable, energetic, possess effective communication skills and able to work in a team. You will have experience supporting those with challenging behaviours and understand how to effectively manage these situations. You will also be willing to provide our young people with personal care as required.

You will thrive on supporting our young people to enjoy life whilst attending to their physical, medical, and emotional wellbeing.

Essential Requirements:

  • UK resident or right to work in UK (proof of this will be required).
  • Be computer literate.
  • Minimum of 6 months relevant experience working with children/young people.
  • Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare or above preferred but not essential - you will be required to complete level 4 diploma upon completion of probation if not already gained or working to achieve *required to successfully pass within 2 years of service in children/young person services as a regulatory requirement of Ofsted.
  • Compliant to our safer recruitment policy, whereby you will undergo rigorous pre-employment checks, which will include obtaining satisfactory references, relevant enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, proof of right to work, verified full working history among other required checks/verification in line with this policy.
  • Understand that due to the nature of the work 15/7.5-hour shifts are involved, and these include weekends.

Desirable Requirement:

  • Ideally hold a full UK driving license.
