Learning Support Assistants / SouthamptonAre you a caring, compassionate person that would like to gain experience in a school setting? Do you have a knowledge of SEN and would like to transition into schools?We are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants to support children in a supportive SEN school in Southampton. You will be expected to work with children, most of which have an EHCP, on a 1:1, small group or general classroom basis.

If you have personal experience of SEN or Mental Health or have built experience via a qualification, or through your own volunteering and paid work, this role will really help build on your experience.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will:

  • Confidently help pupils access curriculum through your dedicated support
  • Assist the teacher in sourcing and creating resources
  • Raise attainment of the students
  • Support the needs of students within the classroom
  • Monitor pupil progress

To register with Academics you'll require:

* A DBS on the update service or willing to get one* Prior experience working with children - experience of supporting children with SEN needs would be advantageous.* Knowledge of behaviour management / the ability to see it through * The ability to build relationships with both children and staff
