SEN Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are working with a 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated SEN School based in Totton, Hampshire seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for September 2024

This specialist setting caters for children and young people aged 2-19 with Autism alongside other Complex Needs to include SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs. Your role will include providing support for pupils, teachers, and the school, working within small-class sizes or with pupils on a 1:1 basis offering a therapeutic approach rich in vocational opportunities.

  • Minimum rate of pay - From GBP85.10 - GBP98.20
  • Hours - 8:30 - 16.00 (32.5 hours per week)

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent (preferable)
  • GCSES: English & Maths
  • Minimum 1 year working with children
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willingness to complete)

Eligibility:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
