SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant at an SEN provision school located in Southampton. The school boasts excellent facilities, including a dedicated music room, expansive outdoor play areas, and sports amenities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the school at an exciting time. We are seeking motivated, creative and passionate individuals to become part of their team. Full training will be provided to help you understand how to effectively support their pupils.

To be successful for the SEN Teaching Assistant role experience is desirable in:

  • Previous teaching roles
  • Sports Coaching
  • Have worked in a Nursery before
  • Support work or healthcare
  • Youth work
  • Working with challenging behaviour

Key responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Assisting pupils in settling into their tutor groups
  • Supporting teachers to ensure all students can engage with the curriculum
  • Providing 1:1, 2:1, or small group support
  • Collaborating closely with teachers to ensure comprehensive pupil support
  • While full-time availability is preferred, part-time applicants are encouraged to apply, as job-sharing opportunities may be available.
  • Hours for the position are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
