Full-Time Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision

GSL Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in central Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) Provision, supporting students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). These students may have Autism, Learning Difficulties, or Speech and Language needs, and your role will be pivotal in helping them achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students within the SEN Provision
  • Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring an inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide tailored support
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in students

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a school setting is desirable, but not essential – we welcome applications from those with transferable skills from care, youth work, or other related roles
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient personality
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
