We are currently working with a lovely SEN School in the Totton area who need a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team. This school caters for pupils with Special Educational Needs and has a focus on providing a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.

Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting the class Teacher
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with some small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum
  • Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days
  • Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values
  • Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviours
  • Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Pay: £83.33 - £103.04 per day.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient! - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding!
  • Experience working within a SEN school (not essential)
  • A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

To work with GSL Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you should: 
 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
