Job Overview:
A dedicated secondary school in Central Southampton is looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2025. This long-term role runs until July 2025, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. You will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), playing a pivotal role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the specific needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with SEMH and ASD.
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Assist in creating personalised learning materials and resources.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support a calm and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Track and monitor student progress, contributing to their academic, social, and emotional development.
