We are looking for a enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher to join an SEN school in Southampton. If you are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of young people, and are experienced in adapting the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of learners, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to students with special educational needs across KS2 - KS4.
  • Support the development of literacy and communication skills through creative and student-centred approaches.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure that all students are receiving appropriate and personalised learning support.
  • Use assessment and feedback to inform instruction and ensure progress is tracked effectively.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement personalised education plans and individual behaviour plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to learn.
  • Provide regular updates to parents/carers regarding student progress and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism or experience in English.
  • Experience teaching students with a range of special educational needs, in a mainstream or SEND setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and the ability to differentiate lessons effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs.
