Procurement Manager to lead the procurement activities and drive the supply chain strategy within manufacturing

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to lead the procurement activities and drive the supply chain strategy for this exceptionally fast growing manufacturer. Growth from 10million to over 45million in 2 years and manufacturing products and instruments with applications across a wide range of sectors and in particular the medical field.
As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading site procurement activities, including supplier management, risk management, and operational management for the on site manufacturing operations. Reporting into the Operations Director, this role will be a key part of the site leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Leadership Team in providing leadership and vision to the business.
- Promote a safety-first culture and encourage value-driven behaviours.
- Lead the development and performance growth of the procurement team of 5.
- Set departmental objectives and review ongoing performance.
- Manage all site purchasing activities and achieve budget and forecast targets.
- Engage in supplier selection and ensure technical and cost requirements are met.
- Enhance supplier relationships and partnerships
- Collaborate with local and global teams for strategic purchasing discussions.
- Ensure Long Term Agreements and contracts are in place for production parts.
- Control rejects, returns, and non-conformance, driving corrective actions.
- Audit suppliers and manage qualification to regulatory and customer requirements.
- Identify new and alternate suppliers to build a resilient supplier portfolio.
- Drive cost and lead time reduction of suppliers.
- Negotiate improved terms and conditions to reduce acquisition costs.
- Support internal audit plans and address non-conformity observations.
Key Skills & Experience required for the role:
- Experience in a Procurement Management role with oversight of supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with specialised manufacturing environments such as electronics, PCBs, optical, instruments or clinical machinery.
- Proven team management with a genuine care for the progression and development of your team
- Understanding of working in a market with a small specialised supplier base.
- Enthusiastic and ready to make your mark on the senior leadership team
- NPD/NPI experience
