Role Overview: As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering the curriculum, ensuring that all students are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential. This is a full-time, long-term position with opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated with the latest teaching practices and technologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology at secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Food Technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
