Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Night Warehouse Operative to join our transport and logistics team. The role involves ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods during night shifts. You will play a vital part in maintaining a smooth supply chain and ensuring our deliveries are prepared for dispatch on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Processing Shipments: Unload and inspect incoming goods, ensuring all items match delivery notes and are free of damage.
- Order Picking and Packing: Accurately pick, pack, and label items for dispatch according to customer orders and transport schedules.
- Inventory Control: Assist with stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, forklifts), ensuring secure and damage-free transport.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Ensure all relevant paperwork and documentation (e.g., delivery notes, shipping labels) is completed accurately.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Key Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly in night shifts, is preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving goods (up to 20 kg), for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail to ensure the correct handling and dispatch of goods.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Forklift License (Desirable): Valid forklift certification is an advantage.
