About the RoleA market-leading property management firm is seeking a Property Defect & Compliance Inspections Officer based in Southend. This is a key role within the organization, responsible for ensuring the safety, compliance, and maintenance standards of a diverse property portfolio.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site inspections of rental properties, including void units, to identify defects and maintenance needs.
- Prepare detailed reports on property conditions and recommend remedial and preventative actions to ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and council licensing requirements.
- Investigate reported maintenance issues, providing detailed feedback and schedules of work for the in-house maintenance team or external contractors.
- Perform regular compliance checks, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Escalate high-risk or unresolved issues to senior management as required.
- Assist with the 24/7 emergency telephone line, ensuring swift resolution of urgent maintenance or safety concerns.
About YouYou will be a detail-oriented professional with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving property defects. You'll work closely with internal teams ensuring properties are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience in property inspections, maintenance, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and council licensing requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to identify defects, recommend solutions, and manage maintenance schedules.
