Due to our company expanding rapidly, we are now looking for an electrician to join our team.
We are a small construction company based in Southend on Sea; however, we cover a large area which includes, but not limited to are:
Essex
Suffolk
Lower part of Norfolk
Cambridgeshire
Bedfordshire
Hertfordshire
Parts of Kent
All of London
The type of properties we work in are all insurance claims ranging from fire damaged, flood damaged, escape of water, Impact damage etc. Some of our claims, you would only be expected to carry out a test and report, whereas most of our claims will be a complete strip out and re wire of residential properties. What the successful candidate must realise is that we will only be working in the affected rooms. Even though for example, the wiring to a room which we are not working in is not to regulations, we are not expected to bring this area up to standard as we are not working in this area.
The services to be carried out by the successful candidate are:
-Domestic consumer unit replacements
-Temporary board installation
-Installation of earth bonding
-Fault finding
-Installation of RCDs/RCBOs
-Installation of surge protection
-Replacement lights and accessories
-Replacement switch fuses
-Installation of smoke detection
-Installation of new circuits
-Testing
-Other minor electrical works
Qualifications required:
Level Three Electrical Qualification
18th Edition Regulations
IT literate
Full clean driving licence
2391 Testing Certificate
Desirable: NAPTIT/NICEIC registered
Experience:
- Minimum three years' experience working as an electrician.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation, and persuasion skills, including the ability to weigh up and articulate the risk and benefit of various scenarios and propose effective resolutions.
- The ability to follow technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagrams.
- Strong analytical, numeracy and literacy skills
- The ability to work carefully, methodically, and safely.
- A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather.
- A willingness to work in confined spaces excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be expected to be on site from 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday.
Please note that you will be expected to travel to all the above areas, however due to the type of work, you could be in London in the morning and then Bedfordshire in the afternoon as an example. Please be prepared to travel. In return, we contribute towards your fuel and cover and parking, ULEZ and Congestion charges.
