The Role: Events and Administration Assistant Hybrid/Southend
You will be required to support the Conference Team with the running and execution of events online and across the UK. The successful applicant will be required to travel to up to 10 conferences per year across the UK, including some overnight stays, and 2 x Saturday events per year. My client is looking for someone with a can-do attitude, great customer service and an eye for detail.
Main Duties:
Events Support
- Assist with the running of virtual and in-person conferences
- Attend committee meetings/working groups, take notes and produce papers where necessary
- Delegate registration administration
- Ensure the conference programme is kept up to date and follow up registrations
- Work with invited speakers, committees and individual delegates as required
- Prepare materials for promotional purposes and set up displays
- Take part in conference progress meetings
- Support the Conference and Events Executive, as required
Events Marketing and promotion
- Produce engaging promotional content related to conferences for social media using relevant platforms including X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram
- Create and update content to the client Website
- Research opportunities for diversifying conference and events mailing lists
- Schedule social media campaigns including developing content for national campaigns for company conferences and events across their various channels.
- Produce email campaigns to promote event attendance
Key Experience:
- Office environment
- Working with professional committees / working groups (desirable)
- Use of social media in a professional context (desirable)
Key Skills:
- Competent IT skills in particular using Microsoft applications and Social Media
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written English including the ability to write minutes of meetings and to create content for website and social media posts
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Team player with ability to work on own initiative
- Good administration and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
The Package
- £22,500 per annum
- Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
- Working from home, 2 days in the Southend office
