About the Role:As the Head of Rough Sleeper Services, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing services aimed at reducing rough sleeping in Southend-on-Sea. You will lead a dedicated team, working closely with partner organisations, local authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure rough sleepers receive the support they need to transition into safe and sustainable accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the rough sleeper outreach team, ensuring services are delivered effectively and compassionately.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce rough sleeping, in line with local and national objectives.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, and support services to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure high standards of service provision, safeguarding, and client care are maintained.
- Monitor service performance, producing regular reports and evaluations to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead on funding applications, budget management, and resource allocation to support the growth of services.
- Proven leadership experience in a homelessness, housing, or related sector.
- Strong understanding of rough sleeping issues and solutions, including housing pathways, mental health, and substance misuse support.
- Experience working with local authorities, housing associations, and support services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-building skills.
- Ability to manage teams, budgets, and complex projects.
