Role Overview: As a Design Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Design Technology department by providing technical assistance, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students. Your expertise will help foster creativity and innovation among students as they explore various aspects of design technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and setup of materials and equipment for Design Technology classes.
- Maintain and repair tools and machinery, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good working order.
- Support teachers in delivering practical lessons and demonstrations.
- Ensure the workshop and storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to students during project work, fostering a hands-on learning experience.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and improve resource materials and lesson plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant qualifications in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in an educational or technical environment is desirable.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
- A passion for education and helping students achieve their potential.
