Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our team in Southend-on-Sea. This role will focus on New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Improvement, and Maintenance Engineering to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness within the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth transition from development to production.
Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost.
Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability, identifying and implementing proactive solutions.
Provide engineering support for the repair and overhaul of components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and work instructions to enhance production capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and supply chain to resolve technical challenges.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and reduce defects.
Identify and implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards.

Key Requirements:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Production Engineering.
Previous experience in manufacturing or precision engineering sectors.
Strong knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
Proven experience in Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Understanding of maintenance engineering principles and best practices.
Experience in developing work instructions, process documentation, and tooling.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in a cross-functional environment.
