gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our clients based in Westcliff-on-Sea for an experienced Residential Support Worker for a children’s registered service. 

Must be open to working on weekdays and weekends, with flexibility for day and night shifts as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the Needs of Children and Young People:

  • Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Immediately report any unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Promote structure, boundaries, and routines within a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Serve as a positive role model for young people, maintaining a highly professional demeanour.
  • Work with young people on intervention strategies to promote pro-social behaviour.
  • Deliver direct and individual support to children and young people.
  • Support young people in project and group work.
  • Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.

Personal Development and Team Membership:

  • Collaborate as part of a team and support less experienced staff in the operation of the home, following the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Undertake relevant training programs as required by governing regulations and guidance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children and young people is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
