Your new roleSouthend City Council are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Early Help Family Support Practitioner to work with The Supporting Families Team.The team delivers whole family interventions to residences in Southend in need of complex help and support. Family Support Practitioners will hold a case load of families for which they are the lead professional. The successful candidate will work with families to complete family assessments and collaboratively create whole family support plans. This may include delivering 1;1 interventions, as well as coordinating support from other agencies.The team uses a restorative model of practise and this is integral in their assessments, plans and direct work with families.The role requires the practitioners to work with clients and other professionals to improve outcomes for children and their families, as well as provide outcomes for the Supporting Families Programme.

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in the position, applicants must have experience within children safeguarding and need to have experience of lone working in the community, providing interventions and support to vulnerable families.The role requires excellent assessment and outcome focussed planning skills, as well as knowledge and experience of trauma informed practise.The successful candidate will have knowledge of using case recording systems and be able to demonstrate analytical skills in understanding change and how this informs practise.Applicants will need to move around the city of Southend as home visits are an essential part of this role.
