Housing Scheme Manager

Southend on Sea, Essex

£23,346.50

Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

Flexible working hours between 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday

One weekend per month

We’re seeking a motivated and compassionate Scheme Manager to undertake various duties at our sheltered accommodation at Leyland Court.

In this key role, you will play a crucial part in supporting residents by providing assistance with daily tasks, ensuring their safety and security, and addressing any concerns related to repairs and maintenance. You will be responsible for managing potential risks and maintaining a safe living environment for the residents.

Your role will involve close collaboration with residents, colleagues and external agencies to build strong, supportive relationships. You will need to possess exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with residents, colleagues, and external partners. Your role will require active listening and empathetic communication to understand the specific needs of each resident.

You will be required to:

  • To respond to any emergency alarm calls during the working day from residents and to act in accordance with the above.
  • To maintain a diary for the scheme recording all instances where the master keys are used and other matters/occurrences of importance.
  • To maintain a filing system and to ensure that these records are readily available in the event of an emergency and keep care line appraised of changes in details and details of new residents.
  • Promote the use of the resident's lounge and to stimulate the social life of the scheme by facilitating and running community events.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Previous Scheme Manger or Warden experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Customer service and administration skills.

Due to the nature of the post, a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
