PE Teacher - SEMH School

The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Physical Education lessons to students with SEMH needs. You will engage students in physical activities that promote their physical health, emotional well-being, and social development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of students with SEMH.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and builds self-esteem.
  • Promote physical health, teamwork, and social skills through a variety of sports and physical activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to ensure all students can access and benefit from PE lessons.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to support students' individual learning and behavioral needs.
  • Monitor and track students' progress in PE, providing feedback and interventions as needed.
  • Support students' emotional and social development through physical activity and sportsmanship.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of students, ensuring a safe environment both in and outside of lessons.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Physical Education or related field.
  • Experience working with students who have SEMH needs or other special educational needs.
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching, with the ability to motivate and engage students.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a structured and supportive environment.
  • Passionate about the benefits of physical activity for students' well-being, social skills, and academic success.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and supporting the holistic development of students.
