Are you an adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children in their learning? Our friendly and dynamic Primary School, located in Southend, is looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning while contributing to a supportive and positive school environment.


As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during short-term absences of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task, and providing support for their learning. You will work with a range of classes across different year groups, ensuring that the students are engaged and productive in their lessons.


Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage classes during teacher absence, ensuring that students remain focused and engaged
Implement pre-set lesson plans and manage classroom activities
Support students with their learning, providing assistance as needed
Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring behaviour standards are upheld
Provide feedback to teachers on student progress, behaviour, and any issues during cover periods
Support with administrative tasks as required


The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting
Be confident in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a productive learning environment
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work with children of different ages and abilities
Be flexible, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure
Show a genuine passion for education and helping children succeed
Hold a relevant qualification or experience, although no formal teaching qualification is required
