About the Role
We are looking for passionate and motivated Outreach Tutors to join our team in Southend. As an Outreach Tutor, you will work directly with students in non-traditional settings, such as their homes or local community locations, offering tailored support to help them reach their academic potential. You will deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in core subjects, helping students overcome barriers to learning.
This role offers flexibility and the chance to make a lasting difference in student's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group tuition in subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
- Develop personalised learning plans for each student to cater to their individual needs.
- Work with students in various locations, including homes, community centers, or online platforms.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment to help build student confidence.
- Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure ongoing improvement.
- Keep parents, carers, and other professionals updated on student progress.
- Adhere to safeguarding standards and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Teaching qualification or relevant experience in education or tutoring (QTS/PGCE)
- Strong knowledge in at least one core subject (Maths, English, or Science).
- Experience working with students outside of mainstream education, including those with learning challenges.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and self-motivation to manage lessons in a variety of settings.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
