Job Role: Multi-Skills LecturerLocation: Southend-on-Sea, with opportunities across Essex (Basildon, Southend, Thurrock)Hourly Rate: Up to £50 per hourEmployment Type: Temporary, Full-Time/Part-TimeRole Overview: We are seeking a passionate and qualified Multi-Skills Lecturer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with practical experience in a range of trade disciplines to share their expertise with students. The successful candidate will deliver dynamic and engaging lessons across various campuses in Essex, teaching students a diverse set of practical skills that will prepare them for successful careers in the trades industry.Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality teaching in multiple trade disciplines (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical installation, construction) at various levels (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3) in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Preparing and delivering lessons using a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assessing student progress, providing feedback, and supporting their development.
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to in the classroom and practical settings.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments and incorporating them into teaching.
  • Contributing to the wider college community and working collaboratively with colleagues.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in one or more relevant trade areas (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical installation).
  • Relevant industry experience in multiple trades.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent) or a commitment to working towards one.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A passion for teaching and supporting students in their professional development.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience teaching multi-skills or similar subjects in a further education environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations across multiple trades.
  • Familiarity with the latest technology and teaching resources.
  • Ability to design and develop engaging and innovative lesson plans.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
