Fire Systems Surveyor/EstimatorLocation: SouthportSalary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE)

About the Role:Our client are seeking a skilled Fire Systems Surveyor/Estimator to join their dynamic team, providing fire safety, electrical, and access control solutions to clients across the North of England.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting site surveys, designing systems, and managing the technical aspects of quotations. This includes ensuring the appropriate equipment is specified, pricing accurately, and working within established timeframes. Collaboration with internal teams and client communication will be essential, including addressing technical queries and presenting proposed solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates, tenders (including PQQs), and detailed quotations
  • Provide quotations for small internal remedial repair works
  • Conduct technical surveys of client premises
  • Review contracts following job acceptance
  • Complete required documentation, including certification and drawings
  • Offer technical support to engineers and clients
  • Perform external technical audits of installations and maintenance work

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong background in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FIA Units 1-6)
  • Proven experience in designing and estimating fire safety systems
  • Solid engineering foundation with in-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems and extinguishers, including installation methods
  • Comprehensive understanding of British and European standards for fire systems
  • Experience in designing systems for various environments (industrial, commercial, retail, domestic) in line with BAFE codes of practice
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel) and comfortable using PDAs
  • Must pass full CRB check and British Standard Security Screening (BS7858)

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: £35,000 to £45,000 (dependent on experience)
