We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our team on a locum basis in Southport. This is a full-time role offering an immediate start, with placements available within the Post-Operative Care Ward and the Elective Orthopaedic Ward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a clinical caseload to provide ongoing assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for surgical and trauma patients following orthopaedic procedures.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to enhance the patient journey, following the Red 2 Green principles to promote timely and positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate on discharge planning, with awareness of local discharge pathways, HomeFirst, and Single-Handed Care principles (desirable but not essential).
  • Provide respiratory physiotherapy support where required (desirable but not essential).

Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification and HCPC registration.
  • Experience in orthopaedics and/or post-operative care is essential.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within an MDT.
  • An understanding of discharge planning and local pathways is advantageous.
