The School and Role

As a Learning support assistant at this Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary School in Southport, Sefton, you will be an integral part of the dedicated intervention team within the school, who’s aim is to fully develop every child intellectually, morally, emotionally, and physically and promote independence.

This Learning Support role is full-time, Monday - Friday, and will be based in KS1.  You will be supporting small group intervention sessions, working alongside the class teacher, promoting positive behaviour and the intended outcomes for the learning activities in which students are involved.  For this reason, the school would like to meet a Learning Support Assistant who is adaptable in their approach and who has varied experience across primary schools.  As part of your role, you will also be supporting monitoring student progress reports and updating individual plans, as well as some additional responsibilities around the school.

 

Requirements

Desirable for this Learning Support Assistant role:

  • experience covering across KS1 and KS2 holding small group intervention groups
  • A passion for the progress of primary school pupils
  • An ability to work as part of a team
  • Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
