Your new companyHays are working with a school in the Southport area that is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support students with more complex needs. The school is based within easy reach of public transport and is rated GOOD by Ofsted. The school is looking to appoint someone as soon as possible to support in KS1 and KS2 as needed. Your new roleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will help students with additional, complex needs to engage in the curriculum and classroom activities, as well as supporting the teacher with general classroom duties. You will build a strong rapport with the student which will in turn help them to trust you. You will be responsible for supporting the student with their work, adapting where needed. You will liaise with the SENCO to ensure the highest support is being provided. What you'll need to succeedYou will have experience working with children with additional needs, including LD, global delay, challenging behaviour and personal care needs. You will ideally hold a relevant qualification for childcare or teaching assistant qualifications.
