Veritas Education are looking for a passionate English Teacher, who is inclusive and has had experience teaching SEN students in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 who can help grow an innovative English department. We offer many opportunities for growth to our teachers, and the ability or interest in teaching another subject would be an advantage.

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic full-time Head of English teacher, with the ability to teach Key Stage 3 and GCSE. This role has scope for an additional responsibility for the right candidate. Ability to offer an additional subject is desirable.

You will show passion in subject and lesson delivery which will inspire all learners to reach or exceed their capabilities. Therefore the successful candidate will be have up-to-date knowledge of approaches to teaching and learning as well as solid curriculum content. You will set high expectations and deliver quality teaching to children with learning difficulties.

The Role Main Duties Teaching & Learning:路 To manage pupil learning through effective teaching in accordance with the Department's schemes of work and policies.路 To ensure continuity, progression and cohesiveness in all teaching 路 To use a variety of methods and approaches (including differentiation) to match curricular objectives and the range of pupil needs, and ensure equal opportunity for all pupils.路 To set and monitor homework regularly (in accordance with the School homework policy) to consolidate and extend learning and to encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own learning路 To work with SEN staff and support staff (including prior discussion and joint planning) in order to benefit from their specialist knowledge and to maximise their effectiveness within lessons.路 To work effectively as a member of the Department, learn to improve the quality of teaching and learning.路 To use positive management of behaviour in an environment of mutual respect which allows pupils to feel safe and secure and promotes their self esteem Monitoring, Assessment Recording, Reporting and Accountability路 To be immediately responsible for the processes of identification, assessment, recording and reporting for the pupils in their charge路 To contribute towards the implementation of EHCPs as detailed in the current Code of Practice particularly the planning and recording of appropriate actions and outcomes related to set targets路 To assess pupils' work systematically and use the results to inform future planning, teaching and curricular development路 To be familiar with statutory assessment and reporting procedures and to prepare and present informative, helpful and accurate reports to parents.路 Keep an accurate register of pupils for each lesson. Unexplained absences or patterns of absence should be reported immediately in accordance with the School Policy. Welfare, Behaviour and Safeguarding路 Meet with parents and carers as part of maintaining positive relationships and the full implementation of the School's values and ethos.路 To promote the School's values, positive attitudes and good pupils behaviour, dealing promptly with conflicts and incidents in line with established policy and procedures, encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.路 To supervise pupils on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required

All pay rates that are offered will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. Our working opportunities include temporary positions, permanent contracts and ad-hoc supply.
