A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join our clients Criminal Defence team. This full-time role is based in Portsmouth and offers a chance to work closely with experienced solicitors, providing essential support and gaining invaluable experience in the legal field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside the solicitors, assisting with various tasks including client liaison, document drafting, and case preparation.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries.
  • Drafting documents, briefing counsels and taking witness statements under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Opening and closing files.
  • Preparing correspondence and documents.
  • Digital dictation.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Legal Secretary/ Legal Assistant experience preferably within the criminal defence department before. However, candidates with other legal experience will be considered.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
