Capio Recruitment is working with a well-established Top 200 law firm to find an experienced and commercially minded Dispute Resolution Lawyer for their Newark office. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of dispute resolution matters, working with a diverse client base while benefiting from a supportive and collaborative working environment.

The Role:

As a Dispute Resolution Lawyer, you will manage a varied caseload of disputes, providing strategic and practical advice to clients on a wide range of contentious matters. You will handle cases from inception to resolution, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of dispute resolution matters, including contract disputes, property disputes, professional negligence claims, and debt recovery.
  • Advising clients on the merits of their case, risk assessment, and potential outcomes.
  • Drafting legal documents, including claim forms, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, as well as in alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation and arbitration.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring high standards of client care and commercially sound advice.
  • Liaising with other departments, including commercial and property, to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Staying up to date with changes in legislation and case law, ensuring advice remains current and relevant.
The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in dispute resolution. You will have strong analytical and communication skills, with a client-focused approach and the ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.

You will need:

  • At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in dispute resolution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of dispute resolution processes, including litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach, with the ability to balance client needs and legal requirements.
  • Experience handling a varied caseload of disputes with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • A focus on delivering high-quality legal advice and client care.
